Our Vision Statement
"We exist for whosoever, whenever, whatever to establish a relevant Pentecostal outreach of love, power, and discipleship."
1. Whosoever – We invite all to be a part of the church regardless of race, culture, creed, or background. Regardless of past decisions, we will be an open gate to what has appeared to be a closed city. We will love Biblically, act Biblically, and make resolve Biblically.
2. Whenever – We commit ourselves to availability for those who are seeking the Lord and for the ministry of the Lord Jesus Christ. We will remain a constant in a world of change. We will defend the Gospel in both good and bad times, whether it be accepted or discouraged.
3. Whatever – We commit ourselves to minister to the need of the individual through prayer, the Word, and the Spirit which are agents of sanctification. We are Kingdom minded in knowing that God has ordained and established some individuals and ministries to specialize in certain things and in those cases, we will defer with full support and assistance as needed.
4. Establish – We will not maintain a status quo, but will instead continue the establishment of a Pentecostal presence in Perry physically (land, buildings), spiritually (ministries), and emotionally (community).
5. Relevant – We commit ourselves to living by the Bible and being lead by the Holy Spirit. We understand that God does not change, nor does the message, however, methods of presenting God’s message do change and should be applicable to the world in which we are attempting to minister to. All approaches should be Biblically based and Spirit led.
6. Pentecostal – We understand true Pentecost to be that which appeared in Acts 2 which resulted in souls saved. We also recognize the connections of Pentecost with the Feast of Weeks or Pentecost in which the Israelites practiced in the Old Testament which celebrated the law of God and the provision of God.
7. Outreach – We will work to minister outside the four walls of the church. We will not merely be satisfied with asking the hurting and the broken to come to us. We will instead go and find them.
8. Love – We recognize that God Himself is love according to scripture. We also recognize and stand on the statement that Jesus made in that the world will know we belong to Him based on our love one for another. Paul stated that though a person has spiritual gifts and abilities, absent love, that individual is worthless. Therefore, we will commit ourselves to loving the sinner and hating the sin, to loving people and disliking their actions, and to loving others and disagreeing respectfully.
9. Power – We believe that signs and wonders will certainly follow them that believe in Jesus Christ and who have been baptized in the Holy Spirit. We believe the Holy Spirit exists in the believer to empower them to live for the Lord, minister for the Lord, and be raptured by the Lord. Real power goes beyond emotion and charismata.
10. Discipleship – We believe that absent discipleship, it becomes impossible to live for Christ. The scriptures exhort us to study and show ourselves approved. We also find that teaching and/or discipleship was a major ministry of Jesus while on the earth. The discipleship of the original twelve helped establish the worldwide movement of Christianity and the church. It is through discipleship that the new converts grow and seasoned Christians remained established in right doctrine.
